Bragging Rights garnered by Sharp Out of the Box
The 12th annual United Way Pub Quiz was held April 26th at the Oliver Wight Tavern at Old Sturbridge Village. Dexter-Russell, Inc. was again the sponsor for this annual event and provided all the team prizes. Forty teams vied for the first place spot to win the ‘Sharpest Knives in the Block’ title for their team.
This year’s winning team with the highest score was ‘Sharp Out of the Box’. The team members were Dawna Dagenais, Alan Peppel, Mike Jenkins, and Gary Goguen. They each won an engraved Dexter Russell carving set of knives.
Coming in second place and winning a set of Dexter Russell paring knives and gift certificate was the team of ‘Confederacy of Dunces’. The team members were Kerry-Ann Warren, Ron Warren, Michael “Scully” Metz, and Megan Metz.
The Oliver Wight Tavern staff and United Way volunteers chose the last award of the evening, Best Team Name. The recipient of the Best Team name was ‘We Drink and We Know Things’. Team members were Scott Dungey, Patty Dungey, Kim Leanna, and Dean Leanna. The team name winners each received a Master Chef Apron.
A good time was had by all even with ten rounds of intense questions written by Terry O’Coin and delivered by Quiz Master, Gary Galonek.
