Mary was born in Worcester, MA and attended the University of Connecticut. After college she moved south and worked in Washington, D.C. for nine years where she was the Director of Operations for the National League of POW/MIA Families. She moved back to Massachusetts in 1996, and was the executive assistant to the president at The MathWorks, Inc. in Natick, MA before taking a long break to raise her two children.
During those years she consistently volunteered for many local groups and organizations, such as the Sturbridge Cooperative Nursery School, Old Sturbridge Village (OSV), Burgess Elementary School, Tantasqua Education Foundation and the Tantasqua Music Association. Along the way she has been a Girl Scout leader, an Overseer for OSV, a member of the Harrington Hospital Auxiliary and planned galas and balls that supported both the American Cancer Society and OSV. She remains a board member of several of these organizations, as well as a member of Women in Business.
While working as a Community Engagement Specialist at Intel in Hudson, MA on a six month contract position in 2015, she learned more about the United Way and the services that it provides. In March 2016 she became the Executive Director for United Way of Southbridge, Sturbridge and Charlton.
